Device Management and Tracking - the Service Database
The service database is used to manage devices, including their technical configurations
(such as hard-and software equipment) and service processes to the devices.
Functions:
What this application offers:
The specialty of this application lays is the possibility of adapting the process
cycle and the user interface to the process requirements even while using the
application with no additional programming necessary.
There are appropriate editors integrated into the application, which can be
provisioned to specifically authorized users.
A new mask can be designed or a pre-existing mask modified in only a few mouse clicks.
The editor makes it possible to determine which table fields are contained in a mask.
Different attributes can be assigned to any field, i.e., if they are editable, if an
entry is required, which term list is located in a field or even specific system defaults.
If the contents of a field a demand a certain condition, it can mask areas to be turned on or off.
The service database is based on a client/server solution. Data are stored on
an MS SQL server. They can be accessed by any number of client stations.
In this way, different access rights can be assigned to all users over
the in-house user administration.
For individual devices standard equipment types can be defined in order
to expedite management of the device equipment. Individual adjustments
to the individual and group processes configurations, such as exchange
of equipment components are just as supported as the inclusion of service
tasks for the devices, and tracking their execution with the possibility
for populating diagnostics and initiating follow-up service orders.
