Visit us at the Jena Digital Innovation Hub (JEDI) at Engelplatz 8 from 6 PM to midnight and take a behind-the-scenes look at software development. Our booth, created in collaboration with Jena Digital e.V., offers a fun and interactive introduction to programming — no prior experience needed!

Using small wooden robots called Cubetto, you can take your first steps in programming or create your very own superhero with our Software Hero Configurator. Answer a few engaging questions, and you’ll discover the unique powers of your personalized software hero. As a special highlight, your hero will be printed as a collector’s card to take home as a keepsake.

Our booth is open to everyone and is perfect for those curious about exploring the world of IT. For anyone interested in the fascinating work of the digital economy, we’ve also prepared exciting insights and plenty of interesting facts. On September 14, 2024, our “ORISA pulls it off” team took part in the annual ACP Dragon Boat Sprint (formerly the GODYO Cup) on Lake Schleicher. A total of 25 company teams participated in this event. Since 2007, the annual dragon boat race has been organized by the Jena Rowing and Canoeing Club and the canoeing department of the University Sports Club.

Our team “ORISA pulls through” tirelessly gave its all over 3 rounds. 20 paddlers, one common pace, one goal: 100 meters of full power. The kids set the tone for the ORISA team. The son of a colleague led us through the race with his rhythm as a drummer.

Even the cold wind and low temperatures did not discourage our team. With the starting signal “Are you ready? Attention! Go!” and every powerful paddle stroke, we proved that our commitment and determination were stronger than the external circumstances. We are particularly pleased with the balanced proportion of men and women in our boat.

Even though we weren’t able to reach the top places, the team spirit and cooperation were paramount. Each individual contributed to the fact that we were able to experience a great race together.

The Jena-based company ACP, the canoeing department of the USV Jena, the Jena Canoeing and Rowing Club and the Jena Swimming and Leisure Association once again supported the Jena Parents’ Initiative for Children with Cancer this year. Part of the entry fees will be donated to the contact point for families whose children have cancer and are being or have been treated at Jena University Hospital. During the race, there was a raffle next to the craft corner, where anyone could try their luck for a small donation.

Congratulations to the winning teams, and many thanks to the organizers and all participants. We are already looking forward to next year!

Last Saturday’s Jobwalk was once again a huge success and we are thrilled by the incredible energy and commitment of all participants. We look back on a day full of interesting conversations and lots of fun networking in a relaxed atmosphere in the best summer weather on Jena’s market square.

Another absolute highlight this year was the homemade Weimar Biebereis, which was exclusively available at our ORISA booth.

This time, we received a particularly large number of questions about apprenticeships — luckily, we had our experienced trainer Florian with us, who was able to help all interested visitors with his expertise. A big thank you goes to the organisers of the job walk and the many helpers in the background, without whom such an event would not be possible, as well as to all the visitors in Jena. Your commitment and enthusiasm are the reason why the Jobwalk is the “place to be” every year.

The “Jena Prize for Civil Courage” is being awarded for the 23rd time this year and has a long history of recognizing courageous people who have shown civil courage. The aim of this award is to bring civil courage into the public eye, to encourage people to reflect and to rethink their own actions. The central question remains: What does moral courage mean to me?

We are therefore delighted that ORISA is once again supporting the Jena Prize for Civil Courage this year! In the midst of challenging times, we would like to help emphasize the positive in our society by sponsoring this award. ORISA’s leitmotif — “Innovation through configuration” — stands for the idea that progress is not only based on technological developments, but also on the intelligent adaptation of existing resources, ideas and values. Civil courage also often requires adaptation and the willingness to go against existing norms and injustices, even if this can be uncomfortable or challenging.

From our daily work in the team, with customers and partners, we know that mutual respect is the basis for moving forward together. And so we consider it immensely important to strengthen this understanding in society. The Deutschlandstipendium enables dedicated students to realize their full potential by providing them with financial support while giving them access to networks and resources. As a sponsor of the Deutschland-Stipendium, we help to support and encourage the next generation of talented and innovative students. The University of Jena has been involved in the scholarship program since 2011 and since 2012 it has been a particular pleasure for us to be involved as a supporter in the promotion of young talents every year.
