<p>Technologically, the configurator is based on ORISA’s powerful CPQ software, which enables both complex product logic and the integration of visual real-time renderings in this application. A particular focus is on performance and stability – with success: despite the ambitious schedule, the CPQ reflects the high system quality and reliability that meets the premium standards of the product.</p>
<p>An integral part of the redesign is the connection to the CREALIS® Web PDM system. ORISA is responsible for technical integration and ensures that the configured variants can be seamlessly transferred to the manufacturing process. The system is complemented by dynamic image generation. For certain models, 3D models from ORISA’s own portfolio continue to be used. A solution that offers maximum flexibility while maintaining consistent visualisation quality.</p>

Here, women do not have to prove their competence first — they are trusted from the outset. Female management positions are not an exception, but the norm. Virginia, a dual student, quickly realized this: “<em>I’ve never had the feeling that differences are made between men and women here. Performance counts — not gender</em>.”</p>

During her studies, she was often one of only a few women in lectures, and there were hardly any female role models. It was all the more significant for her when she experienced a woman in a technical management role at ORISA who was not only recognized, but was also a mother: “<em>Until then, I had thought that I had to choose either a career or a family. At ORISA, I saw for the first time that both are possible.</em>” Vittoria, Project Manager, also confirms that nobody is pigeonholed here: “<em>We are seen for our strengths — regardless of gender.</em>” This is exactly what makes our company strong. It’s not about conforming to certain role models, but about being perceived as an individual with your own abilities. Virginia adds: “<em>I particularly appreciate the fact that successful women are visible here and act as role models — this shows that performance and commitment are the focus.</em>”</p>

Annett experiences this every day: <em>“My working day regularly ends at half past three, then I pick up my child — without feeling guilty. That feels natural.”</em><br>
And this openness applies to all parents, not just mothers. Fathers can also combine family and job flexibly here. “<em>It’s absolutely no problem for fathers to take parental leave for longer than two months or to work part-time. The goal: cohesion, creativity and perhaps a chaotic anecdote or two for the company chronicles. Last year, the journey took us to Leipzig and let’s just say: it was colorful, fun and definitely not boring. Our trainees report.</p>
<p><em>The details of the trip were a secret for all trainees, students and interns until departure. We were all the more surprised when, after checking into the hotel, we headed straight to a small art studio in Leipzig for spin painting. There, we were first explained what spin painting actually is and how it works. First, everyone was allowed to experiment on a small canvas and express their individual creativity.</em></p>
<p><em>After discussing the pictures we had created, we ventured into our own projects together as a team. We decided on two large round canvases, one to be designed by us and one by Anika and Florian (our instructors). We tipped, dripped and poured our favorite colors onto the canvas. Then it was Anika and Florian’s turn. Here are the two new works of art that will adorn the trainee office in the future:</em></p>

all in need of refreshment after the long journey and the creative work, ORISA invited us to dinner at the Vapiano restaurant. There was plenty of choice between pizza, pasta and salads and we were all able to eat our fill.</em></p>
<p><em>The evening took us to “LILALICHT” Leipzig, a 3D minigolf adventure. Here we were able to experience minigolf in a very special way. Thanks to black light, the course, clubs and balls glowed in bright neon colors. The walls also had some surprises and great effects in store, which could only be discovered with 3D glasses. Who won the final round will remain our secret, but what we can definitely reveal is that everyone had a lot of fun.</em></p>
<p><em>The next morning we started with a delicious breakfast at the hotel before exploring Leipzig on our own. We split up to visit different places or go shopping and then met up again at Leipzig Central Station for the return journey.</em></p>

Our anniversary on September 26 was the highlight of the year for us: a celebration that brought together our employees, customers, and partners. <p><strong>Next-Level Innovation: CPQ, SAP and a Touch of a Magic</strong></p>
<p>2024 was also a year full of technical milestones for us! <a href="https://www.orisa.de/en/configuration">The KMAT coupling of our CREALIS® CPQ solution with SAP S/4HANA</a> via VCP is particularly noteworthy. This enables companies to speed up sales processes and make their product configurations even more efficient — a real game changer for our customers.</p>
<p>Our <a href="https://www.orisa.de/en?p=22195" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">CREALIS® test tool</a> also generated a lot of enthusiasm: With its ability to automate tests for complex rule sets, we ensure stability and quality even before problems arise. This is an important step in helping our customers boost efficiency.</p>
<p>We also shared our knowledge in webinars and at the <a href="https://www.orisa.de/en/our-cpq-day-in-jena-on-march-20-2024">CPQ Day in Jena</a>, where exciting discussions on CPQ trends and <a href="https://www.orisa.de/en/configuration/sap-vc-ipc" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">SAP integrations</a> were on the agenda. Next year, we would also like to give you an exclusive insight into the world of product configuration and look forward to welcoming you to our customer iTD (<a href="https://www.orisa.de/en/industry-overview-medical-technology" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">medical technology industry</a>) at <a href="https://www.orisa.de/en/cpq-day" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">CPQ Day 2025</a> in Pfarrkirchen.</p>
<p><strong>Strong together: health, team spirit and responsibility</strong></p>
<p>But success needs more than technology — it requires healthy and engaged people. The fact that ORISA focuses on people was demonstrated in many ways in 2024: for example, our <a href="https://www.orisa.de/en/practicing-health-in-the-workplace-a-look-back-at-our-health-month-in-march" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Health Month in March</a> provided valuable impetus for physical and mental well-being in the workplace and this commitment was crowned with the “Thuringian Seal for Healthy Work” in gold.<br>Speaking of fitness: we once again gave our all at the <a href="https://www.orisa.de/en/company-run-2024-in-jena-movement-connects" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">13th Jena company run</a> — not only on the course, but also for a good cause. And because we also love slightly more unusual challenges, we took part in this year’s dragon boat sprint. Spoiler: We may not have had fast fins, but we had a lot of fun!</p>
<p>But we were not only active in sports: as the founder of the <a href="https://www.orisa.de/en?p=25803" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Jena Prize for Civil Courage</a>, we set an important example for social commitment this year. Because in these challenging times, it is all the more important to promote civil courage and solidarity.<br>The year was rounded off with the Long Night of Science, where we brought science and technology to life for everyone. Between microscopes, technical experiments and visions of the future, we showed that even complex topics such as product configuration can be accessible and exciting — and discovered our “superpowers” in the process.</p>

<p>At the end of the year, we took part in a project close to our hearts and put up a “<a href="https://www.buergerstiftung-jena.de/en/wunschbaume.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">wish tree</a>” decorated with children’s wishes that colleagues could “pick” to make Christmas a little brighter for children in the region. A big thank you to all ORISA employees who took part! Together with the Jena Community Foundation, we were able to help make these wishes come true. ORISA not only paid the fixed contribution per gift, but also supported the campaign with an additional donation — so that as many children’s eyes as possible can light up.</p>

<p><strong>What does ISO/IEC 27001:2022 mean?</strong></p>
<p>ISO/IEC 27001:2022 is the latest version of this renowned standard and describes the requirements for establishing, implementing and maintaining a comprehensive information security management system. The aim of the standard is to systematically identify and assess information security risks and adress them using suitable measures. TÜV Thüringen’s certification demonstrates that ORISA has consistently integrated information security into all areas of the company — from IT infrastructure and data protection to security mechanisms for physical and digital access.</p>
<p>With increasing digitalization and the shift of many business processes to the cloud, the risks are also increasing. Cybercrime, data breaches and the misuse of sensitive information pose immense challenges for companies. The ISO/IEC 27001 certification shows that ORISA is prepared for these new requirements. Not only do we demonstrate sophisticated risk management, stringent data protection requirements and security controls to ensure the confidentiality and integrity of information, but we also emphasize the continuous improvement and adaptation of strategies to avert threats. <p>In addition to ISO/IEC 27001 certification, ORISA has held the TISAX label since 2017 and successfully passed the requirements as part of the 2024 re-audit. This special award recognizes companies and institutions that have demonstrated exemplary commitment to the health and well-being of their employees.</p>
<p>The award ceremony took place during the “Healthy Work Day”, an event organized by the “Healthy Work in Thuringia” network. Around one hundred guests from business, science and politics came together to discuss current developments in the areas of occupational health management (OHM) and digital transformation.</p>

ORISA’s journey to success</strong></p>
<p>Our journey to the Gold Seal began in the fall of 2020 when our Managing Director noticed a significant overload in the team during the pandemic. The pandemic was a challenge for all of us, so it quickly became clear that more needed to be done for the health of our colleagues. We started with a digital health week, which immediately met with a positive response. Employees not only provided valuable feedback but also expressed a desire for further health offerings. This feedback reinforced the idea of developing sustainable and needs-oriented measures to promote employee health. Anika Rehe has since been trained as a BGM manager through a cooperation project with AOK PLUS, and today the health offers within the framework of BGM not only support employees in dealing with stress factors, but also promote the fun of exercise and team spirit. Whether it’s the company run, dragon boat races, the ERGO shelf or our professional massage chair in the relaxation room — the activities on offer are enthusiastically received by the workforce.</p>
<p>“The seal for healthy work is the proof that we have done a lot of things right in the area of health management in recent years,” says our Managing Director Matthias Schwuchow proudly. “To achieve the Gold Seal within 3 years, a high level of commitment in the areas of employee health and health-promoting working conditions and measures must be demonstrated. Many thanks to our BGM team, which has invested a lot of work in implementing these measures. It is now up to all of us to take advantage of the offers and remain active.”</p>
<p><strong>The value of the gold seal for us</strong></p>
<p>Being awarded the “Thuringian Seal for Healthy Work” in gold is both a great success and an incentive. It shows us that we are on the right track and that our measures are already bearing fruit. But it is also motivation not to let up and to continue to actively shape the topic of health in the workplace. “The fact that we have been awarded the Gold Seal shows that we really are at the top here! Take the seal as an incentive to keep at it and actively use the offers,” continues Matthias Schwuchow. And indeed — not everyone has to take part in the sporting activities, often small steps, such as a consciously moving break or the active use of the standing desks, are enough to strengthen one’s own health in the long term.</p>
<p>The award of the Thuringian Seal for Healthy Work shows that our commitment to healthy working conditions is not only recognized, but also forward-looking. We look forward to developing and implementing further innovative and sustainable health offers in the coming years. Only through continuous improvement can we ensure that ORISA employees remain healthy and motivated until retirement.</p>

<p>We look back on an inspiring evening full of memories, encounters and exciting prospects for the future. In the unique atmosphere of the IMAGINATA science center in Jena, we welcomed around 150 guests, including representatives of the city of Jena, long-standing partners and customers, including Faulhaber GmbH &amp; Co. KG, <a href="https://www.orisa.de/en/references/siemens-hit-hvac-systems" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Siemens Switzerland</a>, LAMILUX, Everllence (former MAN Energy Solutions), Porsche AG and <a href="https://www.orisa.de/en/references/zeiss-medical-technology" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">ZEISS</a>. Together, we looked back on thirty years of ORISA, shared memories and took a look into the future of the software industry.</p>

<p>The celebration began with a warm speech by our Managing Director Matthias Schwuchow, who answered questions such as what “O‑R-I-S‑A” actually stands for. From the humble beginnings in 1994, when ORISA Software GmbH was born, to the renowned customers we serve today, a lot has happened. Without the vision of our late founders Reinhardt Behrendt and Dieter Schumacher and our co-founder Dr. Peter Fichtner, we would not be where we are today. And, of course, our former, long-standing Managing Director and co-founder Georg Elsner was not to be missed, who brought the development of our company to life once again on stage with his humor and stories from ORISA’s beginnings.</p>
<p>A very special moment was the recognition of our long-standing colleague Ralf Hohmann, who has been an integral part of the ORISA family for 30 years now. His long-standing connection with the company and his commitment from the beginning shows how strongly our team is motivated by trust, cohesion and a family atmosphere. <p>In his speech, Jena’s Lord Mayor Dr. Thomas Nitzsche particularly highlighted ORISA’s commitment to society and its family-friendly approach. Flexible working hours, mobile working and a family-friendly corporate culture are not just buzzwords for us, but integral parts of our daily work. These values help us to make it easier for our employees to achieve a good work-life balance. The initiatives supported by ORISA to promote young talent, such as “CodeWeek” and “Girl’s Day”, were also mentioned positively. There were also exciting insights into current topics: Keynote speaker Prof. Dr. Nils Boysen, Chair at FSU Jena, made the audience smile with his humorous explanation of how artificial intelligence and configuration are connected.</p>

highlights</h4>
<p>Of course, the infamous ORISA nerd quiz, a modified version of the pub quiz and a very popular company tradition that has already caused many astonished “aha” moments, was not to be missed that evening. Each table, at which a colorful mix of ORISAners, partners and customers sat, was given a questionnaire and then the puzzles were diligently answered. Would you know off the top of your head where you can find “feeler warts” in the office or which food doesn’t have an emoji? The attempt to mark the last ORISA HQ on the map of Jena before the move to Humboldtstraße caused a few laughs, because — spoiler — circling the whole of Jena didn’t count.</p>
<p>Our sales manager Kay took over as quizmaster and led the questions with a lot of humor. After the storm on the buffet, the answers were evaluated and the winners announced to loud applause. The table with the most correct answers was rewarded with chocolates and eternal honor and glory.</p>
<p>In addition to exploring the IMAGINATA “Station Park”, an experimentarium for the senses, which invited our guests to explore with over 100 interactive exhibits from the fields of mathematics, physics, technology and biology, they were also able to admire Malcom Brooks’ temporary exhibition “The Wonderful World of Automata”. Another highlight of the evening was the artistry and juggling shows by the Jena artistry troupe <a href="https://www.toledos.de/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Toledos</a>. Impressive gymnastic choreographies, whirling light clubs and the fitting background music created a special atmosphere and amazed the audience. The lovingly prepared buffet also left nothing to be desired. There was plenty of eating, laughing, dancing and partying — the perfect mix for an unforgettable evening.</p>
