As always, the mot\u00adto for this year\u2019s dra\u00adgon boat race in Jena against the beau\u00adtiful back\u00addrop of the Kern\u00adber\u00adge moun\u00adta\u00adins was \u201cPar\u00adti\u00adci\u00adpa\u00adti\u00adon counts\u201d. And so ORISA once again roun\u00added up employees, fri\u00adends and rela\u00adti\u00adves to form a team and crew a boat on the Schlei\u00adcher\u00adsee. For an IT com\u00adpa\u00adny with almost 70 employees, it\u2019s not that easy to fill a dra\u00adgon boat with 20 peo\u00adp\u00adle who are wil\u00adling and able to wield a padd\u00adle, exclu\u00adding the drum\u00admer.<\/p>\n

Expe\u00adri\u00adence has taught us that it takes some con\u00adsis\u00adtent trai\u00adning to padd\u00adle to the front of the race. Nevert\u00adhel\u00adess, we have taken the oppor\u00adtu\u00adni\u00adty to get our youngs\u00adters on board for the trai\u00adning ses\u00adsi\u00adons \u2014 in line with our fami\u00adly-fri\u00adend\u00adly com\u00adpa\u00adny poli\u00adcy. The child\u00adren rare\u00adly get the oppor\u00adtu\u00adni\u00adty for such an adven\u00adture. Our trai\u00adning ses\u00adsi\u00adons in the run-up to the race were cor\u00adre\u00adspon\u00addin\u00adgly fun but wit\u00adhout spe\u00adci\u00adfic out\u00adco\u00admes.<\/p>\n

On the day of the race, Sep\u00adtem\u00adber 9, the wea\u00adther was extre\u00adme\u00adly gra\u00adcious and with tem\u00adpe\u00adra\u00adtures of just under 30\u00b0, drinks and sha\u00adde were the most important fac\u00adtors in pro\u00advi\u00adding our team with the best pos\u00adsi\u00adble sup\u00adport. As usu\u00adal, the two heats got off to a bum\u00adpy start, but we were able to impro\u00adve bit by bit.So much so that we were even able to fight our way through one lap in the first final heat.We had alre\u00ada\u00addy anti\u00adci\u00adpa\u00adted that we would\u00adn\u2019t be among the lea\u00adders with a 23rd-place finisch. Nevert\u00adhel\u00adess, we were able to lea\u00adve more teams behind us than last year, which real\u00adly moti\u00adva\u00adted ever\u00adyo\u00adne. For us, taking part and spen\u00adding the day tog\u00ade\u00adther was an expe\u00adri\u00adence that we will cer\u00adtain\u00adly want to repeat next year.And who knows, may\u00adbe we\u2019ll aim to achie\u00adve a slight\u00adly bet\u00adter ran\u00adking \u2014 alt\u00adhough \u2026 \ud83d\ude0a<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
