ORISA Software GmbH presented itself at the Digital Summit with a large booth at the \u201cMarket of Digital Possibilities\u201d with a wide range of topics on digital transformation. Various applications were demonstrated, highlighting key and relevant aspects from the perspective of product configuration<\/a>.<\/p>\n

As modern technologies, augmented reality (AR)<\/strong> and virtual reality (VR)<\/strong> can deliver immense benefits across various business process chains. ORISA\u2019s CPQ solution CREALIS\u00ae<\/a>, offers seamless integration of AR and VR into the configuration process. Visitors to the stand were able to experience the exemplary configuration of our demonstrator in the virtual world. Many possible use cases were discussed during the talks. Of course, the focus was on the typical B2C (Business to Customer) scenario. Interested parties can configure an individual product to suit their needs, and project it directly into the real world using AR on a smartphone or tablet or fully experience it virtually with VR glasses. This works just as well with a customized watch (e.g. Porsche Timepieces) as it does with a conservatory designed to fit a home (e.g. SunParadise). The transition into the B2B world straightforward. Visualizing a complex machine at its future place of use before production can help to directly evaluate all aspects, such as installation height, integration into the production chain, and accessibility of operating elements. Virtualization can also make a significant contribution to the service aspect. If the complex machine exists as a digital twin, service, maintenance and repairs can be performed more efficiently.<\/p>\n

Simulation<\/strong> and digital twins<\/strong> are extensive subject areas on their own that can cover many areas of service, production, service life, procurement of spare parts, etc. when smartly integrated into the configuration process. In the joint project VIPO, which focused on virtual product and process optimization for researching digital procedures, processes and methods for the entire product life cycle, ORISA showed how these topics can be integrated into the configuration process. The demonstrator at the stand was discussed and praised from various perspectives. The simulation of a test sample in a rotary bending machine demonstrates just one of the many potential application scenarios for digital twins in configuration processes. Sustainability plays a major role in many different fields. For example, simulation can be used to show whether a product such as a turbine shaft is really suitable for a specific application in its concrete form or whether modifications to certain parameters are necessary. The simulation of the service life is as relevant as illustrating the usage parameters themselves.<\/p>\n

The Asset Administration Shell (AAS)<\/strong> can play a central role for many production-related processes in the future. This also includes fully integrated product configuration, which is based on standardized data models that generate uniform product descriptions. Together with Mr. Hofmann from cdmm GmbH in Isserstedt, ORISA was able to show how a well-thought-out system landscape can help to standardize and simplify processes, especially in the context of data structuring. Many intensive discussions took place on this topic at the ORISA stand, during which cdmm\u2019s ONEPDM was also discussed as a basic data structure. This area is seen as having great potential for future processes, as product data communication is becoming increasingly important across all company sectors.<\/p>\n

Of course, the <\/span>Softwareheld configurator<\/strong> was not to be missed at the ORISA booth. This had already experienced a real hype at the MINT Festival. <\/span>Numerous interested visitors also attended the Digital Summit. Not only children and young people configured their individual software hero, <\/span>but many adults found inspiration as well. Some created individual trading cards for their children and grandchildren, while others configured a pair of cards for themselves and their friend. <\/span>The Softwarehero configurator is a result of collaborative project work by ORISA trainees, interns, and students, clearly showcasing how product configuration functions.<\/span><\/p>\n

Overall, the Digital Summit provided a very good platform for interesting discussions with a wide range of people.
