This year\u2019s sym\u00adpo\u00adsi\u00adum of the \u201c Initia\u00adti\u00adve of Sci\u00adence and the Auto\u00admo\u00adti\u00adve Indus\u00adtry\u201d (IWA e.V.) took place on 13 June 2025 with the slo\u00adgan \u201cTheo\u00adry meets Prac\u00adti\u00adce\u201d \u2014 an event that ORISA, as a long-stan\u00adding mem\u00adber of the asso\u00adcia\u00adti\u00adon, once again fol\u00adlo\u00adwed with gre\u00adat inte\u00adrest.<\/p>\n

As a soft\u00adware pro\u00advi\u00adder spe\u00adcia\u00adli\u00adsing in CPQ<\/a> solu\u00adti\u00adons for com\u00adplex pro\u00adduct and sales pro\u00adces\u00adses, we see our\u00adsel\u00adves as a cen\u00adtral inter\u00adface bet\u00adween tech\u00adno\u00adlo\u00adgi\u00adcal deve\u00adlo\u00adp\u00adment and indus\u00adtri\u00adal appli\u00adca\u00adti\u00adon. This is pre\u00adcis\u00ade\u00adly why the exch\u00adan\u00adge with sci\u00aden\u00adti\u00adfic insti\u00adtu\u00adti\u00adons such as the Fried\u00adrich Schil\u00adler Uni\u00adver\u00adsi\u00adty Jena is par\u00adti\u00adcu\u00adlar\u00adly valuable to us.<\/p>\n

ORISA has been part of the IWA for many years and is the\u00adr\u00ade\u00adfo\u00adre an acti\u00adve part of a net\u00adwork that spe\u00adci\u00adfi\u00adcal\u00adly pro\u00admo\u00adtes the trans\u00adfer of know\u00adledge bet\u00adween sci\u00adence and prac\u00adti\u00adce. The asso\u00adcia\u00adti\u00adon aims to pro\u00admo\u00adte appli\u00adca\u00adti\u00adon-ori\u00aden\u00adted rese\u00adarch \u2014 par\u00adti\u00adcu\u00adlar\u00adly in the auto\u00admo\u00adti\u00adve and high-tech indus\u00adtries. Topics such as pro\u00adcess opti\u00admi\u00adsa\u00adti\u00adon in pro\u00adduc\u00adtion and logi\u00adstics, decis\u00adi\u00adon sup\u00adport sys\u00adtems and data-dri\u00adven plan\u00adning approa\u00adches are also high\u00adly rele\u00advant to our day-to-day work. In addi\u00adti\u00adon, such coope\u00adra\u00adti\u00adon brings tog\u00ade\u00adther per\u00adso\u00adna\u00adli\u00adties from busi\u00adness and rese\u00adarch, inclu\u00adding long-stan\u00adding part\u00adners such as Prof. Dr Armin Scholl, Prof. Dr Nils Boy\u00adsen and Prof. Dr Johan\u00adnes Ruh\u00adland, with whom we have a clo\u00adse and ongo\u00ading col\u00adla\u00adbo\u00adra\u00adti\u00adve rela\u00adti\u00adonship. The other cor\u00adpo\u00adra\u00adte mem\u00adbers, Sie\u00admens, Air\u00adbus Ope\u00adra\u00adti\u00adons and Opt\u00adwa\u00adre, also make a signi\u00adfi\u00adcant con\u00adtri\u00adbu\u00adti\u00adon to crea\u00adting a valuable, hands-on dia\u00adlo\u00adgue within the IWA that pro\u00advi\u00addes inspi\u00adra\u00adti\u00adon bey\u00adond indus\u00adtry boun\u00adda\u00adries.<\/p>\n

A par\u00adti\u00adcu\u00adlar high\u00adlight of the sym\u00adpo\u00adsi\u00adum was the awar\u00adding of the 9th IWA pri\u00adze for appli\u00adca\u00adti\u00adon-ori\u00aden\u00adted sci\u00aden\u00adti\u00adfic achie\u00adve\u00adments. The win\u00adners included Dr Thor\u00adben Kr\u00fc\u00adger (Volks\u00adwa\u00adgen AG) and Dr Ste\u00adfan Fedt\u00adke (FSU Jena), who\u00adse work impres\u00adsi\u00adve\u00adly demons\u00adtra\u00adted the inno\u00adva\u00adti\u00adve poten\u00adti\u00adal of the inter\u00adplay bet\u00adween uni\u00adver\u00adsi\u00adty rese\u00adarch and indus\u00adtri\u00adal appli\u00adca\u00adti\u00adon.<\/p>\n

For us at ORISA, the clo\u00adse dia\u00adlo\u00adgue with the sci\u00aden\u00adti\u00adfic com\u00admu\u00adni\u00adty con\u00adfirms time and again that it brings new per\u00adspec\u00adti\u00adves to our pro\u00adjects and helps us to con\u00adti\u00adnuous\u00adly deve\u00adlop our CPQ solu\u00adti\u00adons fur\u00adther \u2014 in a prac\u00adti\u00adcal, pro\u00adfound and future-ori\u00aden\u00adted man\u00adner.
