ORISA is an innovative company in the software industry and has been active in the areas of product configuration, CPQ, CRM and knowledge management for 30 years. ORISA’s software products and solutions are successfully used by renowned companies worldwide. In addition to the introduction of configuration solutions, ORISA offers technology-independent consulting on product structuring, product modularisation, variant management, process integration and database solutions. ORISA’s customers include, among others, Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, MAN Truck & Bus AG, Siemens Schweiz AG, Viessmann Climate Solutions SE and Carl Zeiss AG.

The founders of ORISA are from ZEISS and IBM. One of the first major orders for ORISA was a knowledge-based solution for work plan generation for ZEISS, which is still the heart of optics production today. From this and similar projects, such as the train configurator for Siemens, the knowledge for the development of powerful configuration solutions up to the standard product CREALIS® was formed. CREALIS® serves as a multifunctional CPQ platform for configurators in medical technology, industrial metrology, vehicle and equipment construction, machine tool construction, building services and other branches of mechanical engineering.

ORISA’s more than 60 employees work at the Jena office in the green heart of Germany. With more than 140 IT companies, the location is characterised by a wide range of cooperation. The Friedrich Schiller University and the Ernst Abbe University of Applied Sciences offer a wide range of education and many opportunities for cooperation with science and research. ORISA’s teams use state-of-the-art software technologies that are characterised by security, intuitive usability and high performance. Continuous further development, innovative ideas and long-term cooperation with customers are the basis for successful projects.

ORISA is a family-friendly company. Employees appreciate the flexible working hours and the opportunities for mobile working. ORISA supports professional development in an uncomplicated way and offers a comprehensive onboarding process. The teams work agilely or classically according to the waterfall model, depending on the customer and project. Within Jena, ORISA supports young talent through regular participation in the CodeWeek, the internship week and the practical module of the Jena universities. Quality

ORISA’s services are subject to strict quality management. We offer comprehensive support including concept development, formulation of the specification sheet and ongoing software maintenance. We place particular importance on securing the customer’s investment on an ongoing basis by further developing the products and recognizing groundbreaking trends and consistently implementing them very early on.

“We spoke about a configuration solution for more than 15 years, together with ORISA we created a model for one of our engines within 3 working days. That was really impressive.”

Thomas Scharr, project manager, MAN Truck & Bus AG
