Pricing and calculation — precise, flexible and internationally applicable

Dynamic price calculation for a transparent sales calculation

Pricing and calculation — precise, flexible and internationally applicable

CREALIS® supports internal sales and international sales in pricing

Pricing is one of the most important pillars in the successful sale of customizable products. Customers want transparent pricing for their desired configuration and want to be informed about prices and pricing at all times during the configuration process. Pricing and calculating prices for complex products and services is a challenge for manufacturers and retailers. Manufacturers in direct sales calculate differently to importers in an international environment or authorized dealers. Producers of individual solutions sometimes have to carry out extensive calculations based on detailed pricing schemes for each individual component of a desired product variant.

With CREALIS®, the price calculation of customer-specific configured products is carried out via freely definable price lists (price types), which are based on specific calculation schemes. This means that mark-up calculations for dealers can be mapped in the same way as sales-related profit margins or hierarchy-related discount limits. Prices can be differentiated individually depending on the sales region and access rights for different user roles, such as account manager, direct sales or external dealers. The underlying configuration model is the same, so that unnecessary maintenance work is avoided.

The calculation is supplemented by price rules with which complex price dependencies can be clearly formulated. For example, prices can be defined for items that are dependent on other selected items (“Price in conjunction with”).

Of course, CREALIS® supports international currencies and is ideally suited for international use. During configuration, both discounts and target prices can be defined at item level or for the entire configuration, allowing even more flexible pricing.

Efficient maintenance and administration of prices

Prices are maintained and managed centrally in the CREALIS® PDM (Product Data Management System). The process is considerably simplified by automated imports from third-party systems, for example from ERP systems such as SAP®. Prices can be stored directly on articles, packages or individual values and maintained in line with the defined price lists.

Price lists are currency-related and can be created for specific markets. This ensures that pricing always corresponds to the respective market requirements. Global price changes, such as annual price adjustments, can be easily implemented. Items can be combined into packages with individual package prices, while price rules for global or local price modification are also defined in CREALIS® PDM.

Additional control options, such as the definition of discountable or calculable items, ensure even more individual pricing. This means that even complex price models can be mapped efficiently and precisely.

Individual pricing in real time

During configuration, CREALIS® always calculates the correct total price in the appropriate currency in parallel. The display of prices is role-specific and can be customized for the configuration, the result and the associated documents. If individual items are selected from a package during configuration, the system automatically recommends the appropriate package option.

Role-based assignments of price lists guarantee that every user role — from account manager to external retailer — always sees the right prices. Authorizations to enter discounts and target prices are also controlled on a role-specific basis. This means that discount limits and special conditions can also be controlled in detail.

For even more flexible pricing, graduated prices can be stored directly on items in order to define quantity-dependent prices. External retailers and sales partners also benefit from a mark-up calculation that is specially tailored to their needs. Dynamic currency exchange is possible during configuration so that prices can be converted between different currencies at any time. Special price models, such as rental or leasing prices, can also be easily integrated.

Technological highlights and integration into third-party systems

Integration with existing systems ensures seamless data maintenance and further processing of prices. The continuous import of price lists from ERP systems such as SAP® takes place via IDocs or other structures (Excel, csv, json, xml). All prices can also be exported in Excel or XML files and made available for further processing in other systems.

This flexible and powerful architecture makes CREALIS® an indispensable tool for companies that rely on precise, international and individualized pricing.
